Wind Power

Strathmore Estates has an ongoing policy to support and encourage renewable energy initiatives. Planning permission has now been granted to build an 8 turbine wind farm at Ark Hill. Ark Hill is situated in the Sidlaw Hills, about 2.5km west of Milton of Ogilvie. The site is approximately one square kilometre and would have an export capacity of 6.8MW. The turbines will be 81m high and be the traditional three blade design. The estate is hoping that the wind farm will be constructed in the next few years.
